Video Revision Feedback Guide

Make comments easy to act on by identifying the moment, the problem and the requested change. Good feedback preserves the agreed objective while separating corrections from new creative requests.

01

Review in the right order

First assess the story, accuracy and missing material. Once those decisions are settled, inspect captions, transitions and visual polish. Asking for detailed animation before approving the sequence can create avoidable rework when a section is later removed.

  • Pass one: meaning, order and factual accuracy.
  • Pass two: pacing, framing and supporting visuals.
  • Pass three: spelling, sound, final CTA and exports.
02

Use a timecoded comment

A useful comment has four parts: timecode, observation, reason and requested action. For example: at 00:42 the product name is covered by the caption; buyers need to identify the model; move that caption above the hands. This is more actionable than make it cleaner, which leaves the editor to guess.

  • Timecode or range:
  • What is wrong or unclear:
  • Why it matters to the viewer:
  • Requested change or question for the editor:
03

Resolve conflicting feedback

Have one owner collect and reconcile comments before sending them. If one reviewer wants a scene shorter and another wants more explanation, decide which objective takes priority. Keep the original comments for context, but provide one clear instruction rather than forwarding a contradiction.

  • Identify the final decision-maker.
  • Separate required corrections from preferences.
  • Mark new footage, scripts or versions as scope changes.
  • Ask for impact on schedule before authorizing extra work.
04

Close the revision loop

Check each requested change against the new version and confirm whether it is resolved. Avoid reopening approved decisions without explaining the new information. Record the final approval with the exact filename so the wrong draft cannot be published. Revision counts and deadlines remain those agreed in the project scope.
